Who Are Ahl al-Bayt?

Hadith of the Two Weighty Things (Thaqalayn Hadith)

"I am leaving among you two precious things: the Book of Allah and my progeny, my Ahl al-Bayt. If you hold fast to them, you will never go astray, and they will never separate until they meet me at the Fountain (of Kawthar)."

Hadith of the Ark (Safinah Hadith)

"Indeed, the example of my Ahl al-Bayt among you is like the example of the Ark of Nuh (Noah). Whoever boards it will be saved, and whoever stays away from it will be drowned."

Hadith of Mubahala (Hadith al-Kisa)

"O Allah! These are the people of my house (Ahl al-Bayt). Remove all impurity from them and purify them completely."

Contributions of Ahl al-Bayt

Imams from Ahl al-Bayt

The descendants of the Prophet ﷺ, such as Imam Zainul Abideen, Imam Jafar Sadiq, and others, played a critical role in preserving Islamic knowledge. Imam Jafar Sadiq (RA) established the Jafari school of thought and contributed to Hadith and Fiqh.
